Essex County Business Awards 2012- Abby sponsor the ‘Growing Business of the Year’ Award

The Essex Business Awards have been established for 18 years and are a local platform for celebrating the very best business successes in the area. This year Abby is the proud sponsor of the ‘Growing Business of the Year’ award. The 9 finalists were visited by Mark Giles, Director, and Lesley Finch, HR Director in April; all candidates have an excellent story to tell and are all worthy winners. The results for the award will be announced on Friday 18th May 2012.

Abby Couriers is also up for the ‘Environmental Awareness’ award due to their continuous efforts to make the company ‘green’. With the help of our 3 electric vehicles and ‘My Parcel Centre Basildon’ they are looking to beat stiff completion from 9 other local companies.

Also Congratulations to Gary Michnowiec who has been nominated for the ‘Apprentice of the year’ award. This year Gary has constantly proven his dedication and enthusiasm to the company. Due to his high performance and success in a high pressurised, ever changing environment, the owners of the company Mark and Ruth Giles believed Gary deserved to be recognised for his hard work. Gary is currently studying for his Advanced Management Apprenticeship and his Chartered Institute in Logistics and Transport L3.
